A flying car is a personal vehicle that provides door-to-door aerial transportation. Fulfillment of some of these goals is being attempted by personal air vehicles being developed. The term "flying car" has also been used to refer to roadable aircraftand hovercars.

The flying car has been depicted in works of fantasy and science fiction such asChitty Chitty Bang Bang, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, The Jetsons,Star Wars, Blade Runner, The Fifth Element and the first two Back to the Futurefilms as well as in technology magazines such as Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, and Mechanix Illustrated.[1]

The sQuba is a zero-emission,[4] all electric vehicle which uses three electric motors, one for land travel, two for water. It drives on land powered by its electric rear-wheel drive powertrain, utilizing rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Upon entering water, it floats on the surface until the operator floods the interior to submerge it. It can be submerged to a depth of 10 metres (33 ft), powered by twin electric-powered propellers supplemented by two Seabob water jets. [5] It "flies" when underwater, like a submarine, as it is not designed to drive along the surface at the bottom of the water. The car's top land speed is 120 km/h (75 mph). On the surface of water, the top speed is 6 km/h (3.2 kn; 3.7 mph) and underwater it is 3 km/h (1.6 kn; 1.9 mph).[6]

Lamborghini Veneno $4,500,000. The Veneno gets you from 0 to 60 mph in a swift 2.8 seconds allowing you to hit a top speed of 221 mph. Only three cars are being made available every year. If you want to own this hyper-supercar, you will have to be placed on a waiting list along with other aficionados.

Hennessey Venom GT
In 2014, a Hennessey Venom GT was recorded as exceeding 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h), but as the run was in one direction only, and only 16 cars out of a planned total of 29 have been sold, it does not qualify under the Guinness Book of Records or this list's criteria as the world's fastest production car.

The Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 is a mid-engined sports car, designed and developed in Germany by the Volkswagen Group and manufactured inMolsheim, France, by Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S.

The original version has a top speed of 407 km/h (253 mph).[4] It was named Car of the Decade and best car award (2000–2009) by the BBCtelevision programme Top Gear. The standard Bugatti Veyron also wonTop Gear's Best Car Driven All Year award in 2005.

The Super Sport version of the Veyron is recognised by Guinness World Records as the fastest street-legal production car in the world, with a top speed of 430.9 km/h (267.7 mph),[5] and the roadster Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse version is the fastest roadster in the world, reaching an averaged top speed of 408.84 km/h (254.04 mph) in a test on 6 April 2013.[6][7]
